yucca2.jpg (297329 bytes)Alamogordo is located in southern New Mexico, approximately 80 miles northeast of El Paso, 70 miles east of Las Cruces, and 230 miles southeast of Albuquerque. The city is located between the White Sands National Monument and the base of the Sacramento Mountains.  A half hour spectacular drive winds upward through four of North America's six life zones. At the summit  mountain meadows are blanketed with wildflowers in the late summer, and skiing is available in the winter.

Ours is a very friendly small city, eagerly reaching out to newcomers of all ages.  Just west of town lies Holloman Air Force Base, the area's largest employer. As well as other aircraft, the base is home to the Stealth Fighters, that resemble giant black kites as they swoop through the skies.
